Fogging Process

Published

What is fogging?

This is the process by which a product that we use, GM2000, is applied within your dwelling. The product is misted by use of an electrostatic spray device and so can gain far greater and more consistent coverage of an entire home, similar to the steam created when you have a hot shower.

Why fog the entire house instead of only the room that has the mold?

This is simply because mold is a living microscopic organism that lives everywhere – in every yard and every home. Mold spores are carried on your clothing as well as being present in the air. If the entire dwelling is not fogged, then the mold will return in other rooms under the right conditions.

What does this all mean?

The bottom line here is that we can confidently use our GM2000 process knowing that you are extremely unlikely to have any reaction to it. It is not going to harm any of your furnishings either.

We have performed many treatments with occupants who suffer with such ailments as asthma and multiple sclerosis and others going through chemotherapy. All have reported improvements in their own well-being following mold removal and fogging, with a lot of clients opting for an annual fog regardless of the fact that mold may not be present.

If you have any concerns or questions, please contact us and we would be glad to discuss this further with you.

Note: If you are in the market to shop around for mold remediation, please ensure that the products used have been tested and pose little to no danger to your health and well- being.

GM 2000 Product Information

One of the products used in this process is called GM2000. It was first developed to combat the threat of Anthrax in the United States and was later specially re-engineered to be effective in the elimination of mold spores. It was extensively tested by both the military in the United States and by independent testing laboratories in Australia and Singapore.

It achieved extremely successful results. Since anthrax is a spore, like mold, it has been modified for use in the mold industry. Let’s face it; we do not have anthrax in our homes so there is no need for such a powerful product to be used. In the order of “hard to kills” anthrax ranks at the top of the list, whereas mold, bacteria, and viruses are further down on the list.

The testing of this product has included skin irritation testing, also known as Acute Dermal Irritation/Corrosion testing and showed results with no signs of erythema or edema at any time with examinations conducted at 60 minutes, 24, 48, and 72 hours. What this means is that the product can be classified as a non-skin irritant product.

Further testing of the product regarding its biodegradability was conducted with the result described as “rapid and excellent biodegradability.” Our product achieved a degradation of 95% biodegradability was conducted with the result described as “rapid and excellent biodegradability.” Our product achieved a degradation of 95% with a substance that has greater than 70% described as having excellent biodegradability.

Another test shows averaging >99.99% reduction when tested against Psedomonas aeruginosa, Eschererichia co

li, Candida albaicans and Staphylococcus aureus (pseudomonas, E. Coli, Candida and Golden Staph).

Testing was also conducted on the effectiveness of GM2000 on one of the most feared species of mold due to its ability to produce mycotoxins, Stachybotrys chartarum, and Aspergillus niger, with outstanding results achieved. GM2000 was able to reduce Stachybotrys chartarum >99.99996% and Aspergillus niger >99.99998%.
